    Subjetc´s goals: The goal of the course is to educate the students in the theoretical and practical basics of managerial functions and skills for the operation on lower and middle level management in public as well as in private sector. Study is aimed at the basic principles, tools and techniques of managerial work in harmony with actual theoretical and practical knowledge in manageriaL work in the standard conditions as well as in the conditions of change. Further the study is focused on explanation of the terms, tools and techniques of organisation strategic management and quality management. Understanding the application of the tools and techniques to military environment in military problem solving with using appropriate approach.
    Learning outcomes:
    • skills:
    • Student controls the operation of small and medium teams. He/she analyzes the organisation environment (internal and external), sets and assigns the goals to subordinates effectively including setting the ways of their fulfilling.
    • Applies adapted tools and techniques of management to the conditions of military units.
    • abilities:
    • Student discusses the basic managerial terms, managerial functions and roles. He/she explains the possible ways to leading subordinates and motivating the people in organisation.
    • Student discusses the approaches to organisation management and their application in the military units.
    • competences:
    • Student is able to plan, support and control with using the theoretical knowlege of the field by gaining the additional knowledge, skills and capabilities of other team members.
    • Student is able, according to the developing context and sources available, determine the setting for the expert activities, coordinate them and to be responsible for their final results.
    Subject continuity: The subject is followed by Military management and Managerial decision making.
    Conditions for successful completion of the course:
    • 2nd semester – Exam – written, individual; team processing, presentation and defence of seminar paper; individual writing of the subtests verifying knowledge of subject matter. 
    • 3rd semester – Exam – oral, individual; individual processing, presentation and defence of seminar paper.
