    Subject: Investment and Acquisitions (7. and 8. semester)
    Form of study: full-time; part-time
    Subjetc´s goals: The aim of the lecturing and studying of this course is in part of the investment to equip students with basic knowledge of investments and investment issues, both within the company and in the army of Czech Republic. Studying in part of acquisition is focused on introducing students to the principles of acquisition. Furthermore: tools, methods, standards and metrics used in the processes of acquisition of assets with regard to the life cycle of purchased products, including the importance of quality management.
    Learning outcomes: Graduates of the relevant course will demonstrate:

    The students:

    • Student focuses on the definition and classification of investments. He knows basic phases of investment decision making, financial resources for covering investment, investment decision making and their use in the context of investment projects in the army of Czech Republic.
    • Students focus on methods, tools and processes used for economic management and decision-making in the field of investment and acquisitions in relation to the quality management system.
    • Student is familiar with the stages and processes of the life cycle of purchased products (investments), is familiar with the creation of cost models lifecycle.
    • Student has basic information about the field of acquisition - purchase applications with style economic management processes in the public administration with a focus on the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic.
    • Student will know the principles of acquisition in the public sector with a focus on the planning and implementation of selected practices, tools and methods including applications in the army of Czech Republic. Is familiar with investment ties to their specifications for public procurement, the Public Procurement Act and related internal regulations.

    The students:

    • Students can evaluate the economic efficiency of the investment cost and other methods and evaluate the risks of investment in civilian and military conditions, optimize the capital structure, evaluate the impact of interest, taxes and inflation on investment decisions.
    • Can drive the advancement of knowledge in the field of acquisitions, including context and focusing on improving the procedures of the organization applications of quality management, application development and process management, standards, metrics of the organization.
    • He knows the procedures processes supplier relationship management, methods for assessing effectiveness, suppliers and ways of assessing risk analysis.
    • They can manage and algorithmize activities associated with the acquisition - the purchase and quality control in accordance with relevant legal standards, internal standards, the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and Czech defense standards.
    • Students can differentiate the various functions and stages of the life cycle of the purchased product.

    The graduates in the subject:

    • Student is able to manage the assigned area of activity (eg. for investments and acquisitions) on the job site. It has the ability to present the results of their work.
    Subject continuity:

    This course builds on the subject of Resource Management in the armed forces. This object is an ancestor object Financing and economic management.

    Conditions for successful completion of the course:

    Final examination.

  • Topic 1: The course of small-scale public procurement

    The aim of this topic is to acquaint with the principles of acquisition in the public sector. Further to clarify the procedures relating to the Public Procurement Act, the Czech Republic property and financial control, including related internal regulations of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and acquainted with the way of the small scale procurement within the Tendermarket electronic system.

    The aim of this topic is the structure of investment projects and a starting point for their work within the organization of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic.

  • Topic 3: Evaluation of Economic Efficiency Investments

    The aim of the topic "Evaluation of economic efficiency investments" is the ability to characterize the long-term decision-making tasks, criteria of assessing investment projects and the knowledge and ability to apply basic kinds of methods for assessing the economic efficiency of investment projects with reference to the Army conditions in the relevant legislation and standards.

    The aim of the topic "Financial resources, capital structure and its optimization" is the ability to characterize the types of financial resources covering investment projects, capital structure and its optimization and ultimately the ability to evaluate the effect of interest, taxes and inflation on investment decisions.

    The aim of this topic is to become acquainted with the general rationale for the acquisition in the field of public administration, focusing on the area of the Czech Ministry of Defence.

    The aim of this topic is to explain the process of acquisition and its importance and role in the activities of subjects of public sector.

  • Topic 8: Planning acquisitions in public sector organizations and within the Ministry of Defence of Czech Republic

    The aim of this topic is to learn the procedures associated with the implementation of the strategic planning and implementation of marketing plans. Show on the example of a subject of public sectors the procedures and implementation.

    The aim of this topic is to become familiar with the concept assessment of effectiveness, economy, efficiency and accuracy in the field of procurement.

  • Topic 11: Evaluation method within procurement process

    The aim of this topic is to become familiar with the methods used in the evaluation of acquisition process and suppliers in the context of public procurement.

  • Topic 12: Public procurement in the Department of Defence (central, decentralized, electronic marketplace)

    The aim of this topic is to become familiar with the current individual public procurement procedures within Department of Defence including related links with property acquisition.
