    Subject: Fire Control (7. and 8. semester)
    Form of study: full-time
    Subjetc´s goals:

    The course is focused on the theory of tactical and technical procedures of artillery fire control. It also focuses on cooperation of individual fire control elements and principles of fire support provided by mechanized units and artillery corps.

    Learning outcomes:
    • skills:

    The students:

    - ability to evaluate conditions having impact on artillery fire accuracy,

    - ability to evaluate an artillery unit’s ability to provide fire,

    - ability to use well-established devices to accomplish professional tasks in accordance with their abilities and limitations; the graduates are able to apply these skill in the process of planning and accomplishing professional tasks,

    - ability to organize preparatory activities for fire control,

    - ability to set the firing data for artillery units with the help of well-established devices of the ACR,

    - ability to determine the ways of adjusting fire,

    - ability to control adjusting fire and effective fire of artillery units,

    - ability to calculate the amount of ammunition for a particular target and for methodology of fire; the graduates also calculate values and rates for artillery fire,

    - ability to elaborate and keep technical documentation and documentation of fire.

    • abilities:

    The students:

    - ability to discuss rules of fire and fire support conducted by field artillery,

    - ability to reproduce basics of fire theory,

    - ability to analyse an artillery unit’s ability to provide fire,

    - ability to present conditions having impact on accuracy of artillery fire,

    - ability to classify various types of artillery fire targets,

    - ability to choose the way of setting the firing data and for target shelling,

    - ability to explain rates and values for artillery fire,

    - ability to produce schemes and drawings of ways of adjusting fire and conducting effective fire,

    - ability to describe procedures of individual ways of adjusting fire, conducting and checking the effective fire when determination of values and rates necessary for the fire itself,

    - ability to describe procedures aim of which is to set corrections and to keep records.

    • competences:

    The graduates in the subject:

    - ability to analyse the conditions for artillery fire missions, take measures leading to successful artillery fire mission accomplishment , and take decisions on the most appropriate way of eliminating targets,

    - ability to organise and control activities of their subordinates connected with the preparatory phase and fire control itself,

    - ability to issue rules, orders and commands and give an

    account to senior officers.

    Conditions for successful completion of the course:

    7th term - credit - individual, written and oral

    8th term – Collective comprehensive professional practice of artillery module during the field exercises training + exam - individual, oral

    Course Objectives:

    Explain the basic principles and procedures for determining the topographical features and calculated corrections to the fire control unit (PUO 9M).
